A smart slow cooker
I love being able to brown in the slow cooker and not using another pan. It also has a rack for steaming artichokes. Awesome!

Great Cooker
So far everything has turned out beautifully from chowders to St. Patrick's corned beef. We like being able to fine tune cooking time and level of intensity. Big improvement over our previous one.

Use it all the time
I love this multicooker. We flooded during Hurricane Harvey and have been living in our upstairs for the past 6 months, while they repair our downstairs. This multicooker has been invaluable. I use it several times a week and even have scrambled eggs for breakfast. I loved it before the hurricane and love it even more now...

Love My Cuisinart Multicooker
I have only had my Multicooker for a few weeks, but I have already used all the functions. I especially liked the way I could brown a roast and then slow cook it. The steamer works well, but I wish there were a way I could put smaller items on the rack without them falling through. Overall, it's a great versatile appliance!

Daughter's All Clad cooker (also gifted from me) has pooped out - about 8 yo, it doesn't have the more extensive timing button, and doesn't saute. She uses a slow cooker several times a week for very busy family.

What material(s) are used in the non-stick coating?

Is the non-stick coating PTFE/PFOA free? If so, what materials are used
A shopper on Jan 27, 2014
BEST ANSWER: According to Cuisinart Customer Service, the nonstick coating is called whitford. It is PTFE & PFOA free.
What is the minimum cooking fullness?
A shopper on Jul 22, 2015
I read on another forum that people had problems with the nonstick surface flaking off. Is this an issue? Or has the nonstick surface been improved by the manufacturer in the past year or two?
Liana M on Jan 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Mine is new and only used a couple of times, but it's AWESOME. I browned meat before I used the slow cook function. When washing, the metal seems solid and does not appear that it will flake. Again, it's new, so hopeffully a previous concern has been rectified.
Can this replace a cast iron Dutch oven?
A shopper on Feb 26, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Not a chance. This thing is a piece of crap. The non-stick coating peeled off after only 2-3 uses for us, and we never used anything but soft plastic/rubber utensils. The dutch oven is irreplaceable due to it's high quality ceramic material and ability to be used on the stove and in the oven for the same dish. This thing is a wast of money and Cuisinart won't help you return it. Many of the reviews I've seen are from Cuisinart's website... really shading taking "Great" reviews from the manufacturer, nobody buys directly from them these days...
Can you make rice in this?

I was thinking of replacing my rice cooker (not used that often) with a multi-purpose device.
A shopper on Sep 11, 2013
BEST ANSWER: This slow cooker is not made to cook rice.
Does this model have a delayed start?
A shopper on Dec 14, 2013
BEST ANSWER: No, this slow cooker does not have a delayed start function.

A shopper on Jan 14, 2013
BEST ANSWER: This item is available in stores as well as online. At this time there is no projected time for which they will be discontinued.
Is there free shipping for this cooker?

Is there free shipping on this item
A shopper on Nov 11, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Yes, all orders over $59 have free shipping
I like to slow cook Real oats with nuts and fruits but they cook too long in most slow cookers. Can you choose how long to cook or are times preset?
M M on Sep 22, 2014
BEST ANSWER: This slow cooker's simmer feature may be just what you are looking for. A notch below low, it doesn't overheat your food. Timer is set at 30 minute intervals. Easy wipe clean.
does the lid fasten for transport?
A shopper on Dec 10, 2014
BEST ANSWER: No
how low of a temperature can this be set at?
A shopper on Jun 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The lowest temp is 150 degrees and the highest is 450. This is the "brown/saute" mode. I just love mine, bought my daughter-in-law one and probably will be buying my second for me as mine is close to 2-1/2 years old now and would love to have two of them. Love......love!!!
Can this be used for Sous Vide cooking?
A shopper on Nov 29, 2014
BEST ANSWER: No. This item is not used to boil large amounts of water.
I'm new to the idea of a slow cooker that both sears and slow-cooks, so this may be a dumb question, but: does it have the capacity to do both on its own? Can you set it to sear and then slow-cook, or do you have to turn it down after searing? Thanks if you can help! :D
Bonnie F on Oct 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: That's not a dumb question at all! You must be present for the browning and then switch to the slow cook settings and put the lid on. Even though it doesn't do these steps on its own, the multifunction of this cooker is really great for flavor and keeping clean up to one pan.
How many quart is it? The Multicooker I don't seem to find that in the information.
viole t on Nov 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Mine is 7 at- one year later I purchased another that was 6 qt

BEST ANSWER: Yes, it automatically adjusts to keep warm at the end of the cooking cycle.
Do the handles lock for transporting, like to take to a party? Thanks.
A shopper on Oct 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The handles are an integral part of the body and the lid and are not moveable. I wouldn't think there
would be a problem transporting the multicooker.
Can you cook steaks; like filets or a porterhouse in this unit?
A shopper on Apr 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes,but not the best idea. Slow cookers work best on inexpensive cuts of meat (pork shoulder, beef short ribs, etc). The whole idea is a low slow cook, where the connective tissues can break down, using a filet or porterhouse would be a waste of a good piece of meat.

If you want a foolproof way to cook meat, try a sous vide machine. It's a temperature controlled water bath that perfectly cooks meat (or chicken or fish) slowly, then you can wear it in a hot pan.
Sansaire Sous-Vide Immersion Circulator
Sansaire Sous-Vide Immersion Circulator
does this have an automatic shut off?
A shopper on Mar 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: According to the booklet, "the unit will turn off automatically after time has elapsed," and "if you do not set a cooking time, the unit will shut off after the maximum allowable cooking time for the selected function". It also goes to sleep mode after 5 minutes of non use. I really have to use it one of these days.
Can you use this to steam 2-3 artichokes?
A shopper on Jan 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have not steamed artichokes in the Cuisinart Multicooker. To me, it would be a waste of time to utilize the Multicooker when it would be easier to simply submerge the cleaned artichokes in a pot of boiling water, w/lemons to retain color, for 20 - 25 minutes. When cooled, artichokes can then be seasoned to taste.
Is the pot that the food cooks in aluminum? In other words, the food is in contact with and cooks in aluminum?
A shopper on Sep 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It's a nonstick surface like a teflon pan. Very lightweight so not heavy like caphalon. Not sure if it's aluminum underneath the surface
Does the counter get warm or hot underneath the slow cooker? The one I have now gets hot on counter & makes me nervous about leaving it...which is the whole purpose of a slow cooker!
Orange on Oct 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Ave had no problem with the counter getting warm/hot. Love this slow cooker. Easy to use. Love the way it turns down to warm at the end of the cooking cycle. No over cooked food. But be careful to use only nonmetal utensils. Someone scratched the bottom of the insert, so I have to gently clean it so it doesn't get worse.
Could I cook a standing rib roast in this?
A shopper on Nov 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: good question......I have not tried to do a standing rib...you would want to brown it first.....it would not brown as it cooks. The booklet with it does not mention a prime rib roast.....mentions ribs and short ribs and round, chuck,or rump roast. I think I would not cook a rib roast in the cooker.

A shopper on Jan 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it has 3 fully programmable cooking functions. Very very versitle
can you preset the time to begin?
A shopper on Sep 15, 2016

Can you use the slow cooker liners in this slow cooker?
A shopper on Aug 13, 2018
