EXCLUSIVE Perfect for slow-cooked chili, roasted meats, stewed vegetables and more, this cast-aluminum Dutch oven is ideal for searing on the stovetop and then adding liquid to braise or deglaze. A domed lid locks in moisture, so cooking foods are steadily basted in their own flavorful juices.

An excellent choice for one-pot meals, this Dutch oven is suitable for a wide range of cooking techniques—including stewing, browning and slow cooking. The nonstick coating results in easy searing and browning, and thanks to the cast-aluminum construction, the oven is significantly lighter than similarly sized pans.

All-Clad Cast-Aluminum Nonstick Dutch Oven
I am really enjoying this pot. It is perfect for a recipe of homemade vegetable soup. I have also used it for creamy potato soup. I have cooked delicious green beans in this pot. It is such a good size and also fits on a refrigerator shelf where you can store once it has completely cooled.

An excellent product
Purchased this because porcelain cast iron is too heavy for me. It’s perfect for soups, stews, and beans and conducts heat well and washes beautifully. I am very pleased with this product and highly recommend it. The price is exceptional.

I love this pan, used it in the oven to slow roast a pork shoulder and it turned out delicious and so soft you could cut it with the fork. Today I am using it to cook fish stock . The cleaning is easy and nothing sticks to it.

This is one of the very best things I have in my kitchen. I call it my miracle pot. I can sear something on the stove to keep juices in and then put it in the oven to cook or just leave it to cool on the top of the stove. Doing nothing, because of the even heating I get juicy moist chicken breast meat while the dark meat on the bird is also perfect. I cannot say enough good things about this! I have bought one for my son and I will gift more of them as time goes on.

Perfect Replacement for One of My Favorite Pots
I've been looking for a replacement for an oval pot since I got a new induction stove. My old favorite is not induction-compatible and I hadn't been able to find another pot like it until I saw this one. So far I've only cooked spaghetti sauce in it, but I really like it. It's light and easy to handle, cleans easily and works well on my stove. It also has metal handles so I can put it in the oven without having to worry about them.

Is this dishwasher safe?
Neil B on Sep 30, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The description says "hand wash only."
Directions for dutch oven say oven safe to 400 degrees, but suggested recipe for Braised Whole Chicken calls for 450 degrees - what to do?
Elisabeth L on Oct 16, 2014
BEST ANSWER: This recipe was written for an old AllClad Dutch Oven we used to carry that was oven safe to 500°. For this Dutch oven, the Balsamic Braised Chicken recipe is suggested.
How much does the dutch oven weigh?
Mimi M on Sep 30, 2014
BEST ANSWER: This Dutch oven weighs about 7lbs.
Does this pot work on an induction stove top?
Tara Nelson on Dec 2, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it is.
oven safe?
A shopper on Sep 30, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The description says oven safe, though not safe for use under the broiler.
So for what maximum oven temperature is this particle Dutch oven safe in?
A shopper on Oct 20, 2014
BEST ANSWER: It's oven safe to 400°.
What is the difference between a dutch oven and a french oven?
A shopper on Oct 18, 2014
BEST ANSWER: There is no inherent difference between a Dutch oven, a French oven, a stewpot, a round (or oval) oven, or a covered casserole, as long as each has relatively tall sides and a tight-fitting lid, and can be used on the top of the stove or in the oven.
Can you tell me about the non-stick? I am concerned as I usually stay away from them b/c of my bird.
Beth L on Nov 28, 2014
BEST ANSWER: From Dupont product safety specs:
Are fumes from overheated nonstick cookware hazardous to birds?
Because birds have extremely sensitive respiratory systems, bird owners must take precautions to protect them. Cooking fumes, smoke and odors that have little or no effect on people can seriously sicken and even kill birds, often quite quickly. Cooking fumes from any type of unattended or overheated cookware, not just nonstick, can damage a bird's lungs with alarming speed. This is why bird owners should take steps to protect their pets, such as keeping their birds out of the kitchen, never leaving cookware unattended, never allowing pots and pans to overheat, and making sure that their kitchen is properly ventilated at all times.
Is this suitable for glass cooktops?
A shopper on Oct 16, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Absolutely. I just used mine and no problem at all!
Cast aluminum is said to react to acidic foods such as tomatoes...does this mean that I can't use this all clad Dutch oven to make tomatoe sauce ???
A shopper on Nov 5, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Aluminum will react with foods, but cast aluminum won't because it's been treated.
What up to what size turkey can fit in this dutch oven?
A shopper on Dec 24, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Probably no larger than a 12lb turkey would fit in it.
Where was it made? The main picture has a sign "Made in the USA", but when I read a description, at the very end it says "Made in China". So, where?
Elena A on Dec 18, 2014
BEST ANSWER: That's a great question. It says Canonsburg, PA on the box, so I looked on the actual item and there is no indication on the pot. I then inspected the box more closely and sure enough it says "Made in China." This is disappointing to me because I specifically bought it because I thought All-Clad was made in my home state of PA. Your question prompted me to go on All-Clad's official website (they won't allow me to put the link in here), but if you go under Customer Service --> FAQ it explains what is made where). With that said, I do like this dutch oven. I have an induction cook top, so I am limited to my options. Cast iron was just too heavy for me. This is light and does a great job. Wish it was 100% made in USA, but I still plan on keeping it. Good luck!
What has the cast aluminum been treated with? What is the material used for the "non-stick" surface? Can I use stainless steel utensils in this product
karen o on Feb 18, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I don't know the material used for the non-stick surface and would suggest checking the detailed information on the item. It is an excellent alternative to the traditional cast iron pots like Lodge or Le Creuset, as it is much lighter, and performs well. After regularly using it, the only caveats are that the lid can easily fall from the edge and is not easy to use in draining liquid (like water after boiling pasta) like the regular All Clad stainless saucepans or sauce pots and the pot may wiggle on the stove as the metal disk under the pot is not level with the rest of the pot. Otherwise, this pot performs well. I hope this response is helpful.
Can the lid go in the oven?
A shopper on Sep 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I believe it can go into the oven. This was purchased to give as a gift, so I'm not 100% certain since I have not used it.
what is the largest turkey you can cook in this pan?
A shopper on Oct 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I've never cooked a turkey in it, but I have fit a 5lb brisket (that does shrink). If I had to take a guess, I would say a medium-sized (8lbs or under). Also, keep in mind the pan is a bit narrow, so that may limit the size of the turkey as well.
In the description this pot is said to be induction compatible, but your staff says it isn't. What's true?
A shopper on Mar 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It works on my induction unit
What is the non-stick surface made of? I cannot find anything describing it on the Sur La Table website and cannot even find the pan on the All Clad website. Given the concerns of overheating non-stick surfaces and leaching of potential toxins, I would hope we could at least be informed of the coating to try to make a decision. Oven temp not an issue, but searing meats on a powerful gas range top is as who knows what the temperatures reach.
Shireen K on Dec 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It's a proprietary PFOA free nonstick coating. It should be used at high temperatures on the stovetop, as the direct high heat can damage the surface.
Will this pot fit in my Aa Clad large slow cooker? I need a new insert, as mine is scratched.
Sevil B on Dec 8, 2014
BEST ANSWER: This Dutch oven is not recommended to be used as a slow cooker insert.
How heavy is it?
A shopper on Nov 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: According to my kitchen scale, it weighs 5.7 lbs.
Can you use in the oven
A shopper on Mar 18, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This Dutch oven is fantastic and totally oven friendly. I've made roasts & stews in the oven with great results with oven temperatures of 325-375 degrees. I love this pot and use is all the time...clean up is easy.
Best all purpose size? Can only afford one $-wise and space-wise. Which would you recommend as best all-purpose, all-around size..the 6 1/2 or 5 quart? Hope to buy on this sale and use over holidays.. Thanks!

All-Clad Cast-Aluminum Nonstick Dutch Oven, 6½ qt.
All-Clad Cast-Aluminum Nonstick Dutch Oven, 6½ qt.
All-Clad Cast-Aluminum Nonstick Round Dutch Oven, 5 qt.
All-Clad Cast-Aluminum Nonstick Round Dutch Oven, 5 qt.
BEST ANSWER: I have the 5 qt., I bought this size because it was on special at the time. I like this size because it it multi-purpose for pasta, soup, chili. I would buy the larger size if I were going to use it to cook meats.
Love the non-stick & it is light weight.
Can I use this dutch oven on the gas stove top to simmer large batches of soup and stews?
Christine P on Dec 2, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, I have been successful with starting a stew prior to finishing in the oven as well as soups wholly on top of my gas range. It's a great size and very versatile.
Can you fry items in this dutch oven?
A shopper on Jan 27, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I don’t see why not. I “fry” chicken pieces, bacon, etc, in this pot. Just be cautious of hot oil splatters. And don’t overfil it with oil and throw in your ingredients. Use it more as a basic Dutch oven to sauté meats or vegetables for recipes that call for large quantities. It also cleans up very well and can be transferred to the oven for slow cooking.
Can this pot be used on a gas stovetop?
Chrissy on Dec 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, this works like a regular pot. However the lip for the lid is shallow so you have to be careful when handling the lid.
Is it safe for gas oven?
Galikh on Mar 31, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I see no reason why it would not be safe for a gas oven. I personally have an electric oven. I love the pot. It is my go to pot for so many things. Nancy
Can this be used on an induction stovetop?
A shopper on Feb 27, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes, I use it on my induction cooktop and it works very well. The burner size cannot be larger than the element on the bottom of the Dutch oven.
Can you put top to pot in oven?
A shopper
