Description

Stylish and simple, this garlic press not only makes a messy task easier, it also helps remove garlic odor from busy chefs’ hands. By using downward pressure and a rocking motion, press crushes cloves quickly and evenly, forcing the pieces up through the mesh of holes.

Crushed pieces are then held in the shallow bowl, allowing them to be spooned or scraped easily into a pan. And since stainless steel helps remove garlic odors, use press when you’re done to deodorize hands and fingers.

Nope, not for me
Used it once, not worth even one try. Smashed and smushed is what you end up with. Hard to get the mush out to clean it. I'll stick with my Zyliss or my knife. Waste of money and time

Joseph Joseph Garlic Rocker
Very well made, strong item, but a little hard to use,
you have to exert some pressure to make it rock.
It does function, but maybe needs sharper cut-holes.
Tried this as an alternative to the more standard press.

Best Ever!
Love the way it cuts up the garlic in a little larger chunks then my garlic press. Plus it goes into the tray and easy to scrap off

Garlic rocket
You have to put a lot of pressure on the rocker to smash the garlic. It is easier than having to mince it.

Joseph Joseph Garlic Rocker
This product works well but it is not for those with arthritic hands. It requires too much pressure to get through the garlic & unfortunately that hurts. I did give mine to a younger cook. I find the old fashioned garlic press much easier to use.

We had a plastic handled version before that was great, until we used it so much the plastic cracked and a handle broke off. Stainless steel will hopefully last longer.

So, you do have to peel the garlic first

The garlic does need to be peeled prior to using the rocker. We have several garlic peelers available and I have attached a few options for you.
How much garlic stays stuck in the press after using? I.E., is there a lot of waste with a normal-size clove?
Samantha P on Jun 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: there might be a tiny bit of waste, but mostly you get the garlic meat and not the skin. SOOOO easy to clean, pull off the skin and rinse, nothing gets stuck.
Why would I want to use a product that requires getting a flat surface dirty, when my garlic press works in and of itself and I can just scrape off the pressed garlic? Trying to figure out why I need this.
karen S on Oct 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I found the Garlic Rocker to work better than my garlic press. My garlic press just smushed the garlic where the rocker cuts into small pieces which I prefer. I found it easier to use as I am getting older and don't have the strength in my hands that I once did to squeeze the garlic press.
What is the difference between the Garlic Rocker for $15 Garlic Crusher for $10?

The video and descriptions are the same. The only diff I see is colour...

BEST ANSWER: Stylish and simple, this garlic press not only makes a messy task easier, it also helps remove garlic odor from busy chefs’ hands. By using downward pressure and a rocking motion, press crushes cloves quickly and evenly, forcing the pieces up through the mesh of holes.

The difference between the Garlic Rocker and the Garlic Crusher is that the Rocker is made of one seamless piece of stainless steel while the crusher has a stainless steel center and colored plastic handles. The website does actually show a picture of a green crusher along side of the stainless steel rocker and I have submitted for that to be corrected.
Does a magnet stick to this?
Deanna K on Jan 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Does not appear so. This item appears to be made out of stainless steel which does not generally stick to a magnet.
Most garlic presses leaves a "skin" that is wasted and needs to be cleaned off the press. I am not referring to the papery outside that needs to be removed. This "skin" is part of the bare clove. When using a knife, all of the garlic clove is used. Does the rocker also leave the "skin" behind?
A shopper on Dec 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I know what you're referring to and I have not had the "skin" left behind. This rocker puts all parts of the clove, including the skin, through the "mincer" process. I've been happy with mine and have given several as gifts to my garlic loving friends. Plus, it is easy to clean under hot, running water.
Do you ship to Ontario and how much?
A shopper on May 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: We do ship to Ontario, but you'll need to call us at 800 243 0852 to get a shipping charge quote & make arrangements for payment.
