Great kitchen additioin
I originally bought this to replace a 30 year old cooker that had outlasted its seals; I only used it for corned beef and cabbage on St Patrick’s Day, This new cooker I use all the time, still on St Paddy’s but for short ribs, lamb shanks, veggies, soups and stews. Reliable, predictable and easy to use. A great value

An Excellent SmartPressure Cooker
This is my third and final pressure cooker. I love it.!! I did have to study the instruction manual in order to properly operate the pot (I have pressure cooker phobia). First, it's a beautiful, well manufactured, sturdy piece of cookware. It's heavy and pressurizes swiftly. I cherish my extensive All-Clad cookware collection, love cooking in Stainless steel, and would recommend this particular item of cookware to all.

Very Satisfied
The directions looked a little overwhelming at first but now I have the hang of it! It works perfectly and was easy to use. I am hoping to use it each week to keep trying new recipes. Another cookbook would be helpful.

Beautiful and works excellent. This is a stove top model and works well on my large range. Keep in mind, you must watch this pressure cooker; it is not an automatic unit. It does, however, have an integral timer. Made the best artichokes I ever had!

Lid locking mechanism gets stuck in the closed position.
I have used the pressure cooker for less than a year with great results food wise. The issue with the lid locking mechanism happens intermittently with or without the gasket inserted.

This is an accurate listing of the various pressure settings. In addition to the pressure settings, there is also a quick-release setting.

85 kPa = 12.32821 psi
70 kPa = 10.15264 psi
55 kPA = 7.977076
40 kPa = 5.80151

To answer some questions:

Yes, it can be used as either a pressure cooker or stockpot without the timer. I use a regular glass lid that fits on it to finish a meal that I've started under pressure and finish just using the stovetop without pressure. (I already have a separate 8 qt. stockpot so I personally wouldn't just use it for that on a regular basis, although it can be done).

It works beautifully on an induction range without any need for a welded-on disk attached to the bottom to make it work.

Things to remember:

1) It has a timer to remind you to turn it off. It's not electric and won't turn itself off. Don't try to take a nap while using this stovetop pressure cooker.

2) You must remove the timer prior to placing the lid in the sink or dishwasher to clean.

This is a high-quality piece of stainless steel (inside and outside) cookware made in FRANCE.

I highly recommend this stovetop pressure cooker.
In use on induction range.

Had to return the product. Way too complicated. Very high quality as is all All-Clad, but instructions were poorly done and it would take forever to learn to use this product. To much for a pressure cooker.

Hi,Firstly I would like to start with my personal experience with my old pressure cooker which was Prestige Pressure cooker had no problems with that but its outdated I used it as I am familiar with that but This ALL CLAD PRESSURE COOKER is just like a smart pressure cooker.I felt like I switch from basic phone to smartphone. This ALL CLAD PRESSURE COOKER 8.6 QUART comes with an recipe book, steam basket, instruction guide,Pressure cooker handle with timer on top which is also removable for easy cleaning and a big pot which is good enough to cook a large meals with easy setting. It has 4 programmer setting which allows you to choose like If you want to cook vegetable,Grains, meat,Fish or sea food.Personally I was very impressed but I feel like its very heavy because the handle itself weighs more than 4 lbs as per my view, pot around 2 lbs and if you fill 3/4 of it it might weight around 10 lbs to be cooked on stove top.Its very great for Gas burner, coil burner but please be careful if you have glass stove.Overall I would recommend this to all who loves easy, delicious and quick cooking

I like All-Clad but have been frustrated with the pressure cooker choices. I avoid food related products made in China so was happy to see the new cooker is made in France.

Needed a new pressure cooker. I have bought expensive ones in the past, but the handle screws stripped so it was difficult to get a seal. I like the looks of these strong handles.
Carol T on May 1, 2015
I have an aged Presto pressure cooker which has been faithful for many many years. It requires a deal of finesse and guesswork, but accelerates the cooking process. The All-Clad has removed the guesswork. In addition, as a stove top unit, you can brown things, then easily clean the pot. It is All-Clad quality. It also gets great reviews.

I like the design features such as the multiple settings. I also like how it makes it simple to know you have reached pressure. The locking method, release and steam release are all nice. And it is nice that it doesn't have the huge handles on it. I can also use it like a regular large pot too. I also like that it works on induction and is stainless steel.

Do you know if tis comes with a booklet of some basic recipes?
A shopper on Apr 6, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes
What is the PSI rating of this pressure cooker?
A shopper on May 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Ranges are:

85 kPa = 12.32821 psi
70 kPa = 10.15264 psi
55 kPA = 7.977076 psi
40 kPa = 5.80151 psi

It depends on which setting you place it on depending on what you are cooking.
Can anyone explain how the take the lid apart for cleaning? I’m having a hard time detaching the plastic control panel from the lid and the instructions are not helpful
Sarit L on Jan 3, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Just push the button on one end of the timer control panel to remove it. If that doesn’t pop right off it might be defective.
Is the black lid/cover made of plastic? Is the interior stainless steel? Or the entire lid/cover made of plastic?
Karen L on Mar 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The lid is stainless steel as well as the attaching hardware that used to seal the lid to the base for the pressure cooking. It is very sturdy. The lid then has the hard, and seems quite solid, black plastic top put on which I imagine is to keep it cool to touch. Also the control dial, gray piece, is a nice piece of plastic which again I think is to keep things cool. and the lid handle is a nice solid piece of black plastic that swivels up. I'm pleased with the piece.
It's that easy to change the battery? Can it cooks without the battey? Thanks
bea Q on Oct 2, 2015
BEST ANSWER: All that the removable piece does it act as a timer so there's no need for a separate timer. It does not control pressure, it does not automatically turn the unit off once the time is up. It simply alerts you so you can take action.

The timer pops out, you turn it over, turn the slot in the battery cover with a coin, then remove the round battery. It should last a long time because all it does is act as a timer.
Can you use on an induction cooktop?
A shopper on Apr 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Works perfectly, achieving pressure very rapidly.
Is there a regular All Clad lid available to purchase separately that fits this pot? I would love you use it as a stock pot when I'm not using it as a pressure cooker & a lid would make that more practical.
Wendy S on Feb 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I only own the 11.3" lid that comes with the sauté pans and stockpots. Though the base of this pressure cooker is the same size as the 8Qt. stock pot, the lid does not fit into the top, but rather just barely on top, and therefore may slide off when condensation builds up.

I would try the 10.5" lid, for a 10" pan, as the diameters seem to be the same, I just don't have that lid to say for sure.
I love that the pot itself can be used on its own as a great stockpot. If out of batteries, can this Pressure Cooker still be used as a Pressure Cooker, just without the pre-programed settings?
Donna D on Aug 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: All-Clad recommends that you do not use the pressure cooker without the timer inserted. The pressure cooker is not pre-programed per se. It merely counts down the time during the cooking process, then notifies you when it is time to turn off the heat and release the pressure. I've used an old Presto pressure cooker for a century, but the All-Clad has removed the guess work and designed a unit with many safeguards for the cook. It is a thing a beauty. I can not recommend the unit enough.
Can this pressure cooker be used on a ceramic / glass top stove?
A shopper on May 31, 2015
BEST ANSWER: High-impact bonded base is compatible with all cooktops, including induction.
Can this All-Clad Pressure Cooker be used for all types of food canning?
A shopper on Jan 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The printed materials that come with the pressure cooker focus on pressure cooking for immediate consumption, not on canning. I have not considered canning with this device because 1) All-Clad provides no information about the numerical pressure in psi or KiloPascal achieved during the pressure phase; you would have to contact All-Clad to determine whether safe canning temperature/pressure will be achieved for sufficient time, and 2) the cooker is deep and narrow compared with canners made for the purpose, so not many jars can be processed per batch, this consuming your time.

All-Clad should be able to answer your questions to aid your decision making. Good luck!
Can I use it for canning?
Maggie W on Apr 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately no. The cooker does not reach high enough pressure for canning.
