These stylish mills feature precision-grinding mechanisms built to deliver more flavor with fewer turns. An elegant addition to any tabletop, each mill features a stunning gunmetal finish that’s available exclusively at Sur La Table.

The salt mill’s ceramic grinder offers three settings from fine to coarse—ensuring the ideal texture every time. The pepper grinder has six settings for everything from a light dusting to crumb-size granules. Rather than simply crushing the peppercorns, an innovative carbon steel mechanism strips them down by their individual layers. As the different flavors within layers are released, they blend to deliver the fully rounded, intense flavor of the peppercorns.

I really like the cole and mason derwent salt and pepper grinder.It ls made of high quality materials. It is a breeze to operate.The adjustment to define the different grind setting great.

Love all of the grind settings, and it's fast. Would like a few more for different pepper corns and salts, but a bit pricey. Looks sleek too to leave on counter. Bought based on Cook's Illustrated recommendation. They were spot on. Right now use it for standard tellicherry.

BEST ANSWER: You just pull the top off. It takes some force so just be careful not to spill everywhere.
Does salt grinder also work for pepper?
