Disappointed
It works well as long as the plastic container is held tightly on the sides. If not, a hard vegetable such as a sweet potato won't slice properly.

I like the idea of a safe slicer. The only problem is you need 3 hands. One to hold the veggie, one to work the slicer and one to keep it from sliding as you work it.

How wide is the opening to place the food to be sliced?

BEST ANSWER: It is 3" in diameter. It is nice size for most items including large potatoes.
How hard is it to push something very solid, like a potato, through the blades?

BEST ANSWER: You will need to use a bit more pressure, but it isn't very difficult.
